ActuallyThoughtful is a gift discovery website at actuallythoughtful.com. We are not a store — we help you find the right gift, then send you to the retailers who sell it.

Quiz answers. When you take our gift quiz, your answers are stored anonymously. No account required. We use this to generate your recommendations and improve our suggestions over time.

Your email address — only if you choose to send a hint to someone or save your results. We don't add you to any mailing list without asking first.

The recipient's email — only if you use the “Send a Hint” feature. We use it once to deliver the hint email, then we're done with it. We don't market to them.

Affiliate link clicks. When you click a gift link, we log an anonymous click for internal reporting. We don't know who clicked — just that a link was clicked.

Standard web analytics. Page views, general location, and device type via Vercel Analytics. Nothing that identifies you personally.

No account creation, no passwords. No payment information — we don't sell anything directly. No social media login. We don't sell or share your personal data with anyone for marketing.

We use affiliate links to retailers like Uncommon Goods, Viator, REI, Etsy, and MasterClass. When you click through to one of them, you're leaving our site and entering theirs. Those retailers have their own privacy policies and may set their own cookies. If you make a purchase, we earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you.

We use minimal cookies for session management — keeping your quiz results while you browse. We don't use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. Affiliate partners may set their own cookies when you click through to their sites.

If you provide an email to send a hint or save results, we use Resend (resend.com) to deliver it. We don't add you to any marketing list without explicit permission. To request deletion of any email we hold, just contact us below.

Quiz session data is stored securely on Supabase (supabase.com), hosted on US-based servers. We retain anonymous quiz data for analytics. Email addresses are not retained after the hint is delivered.

You can request access to any data we hold about you, or ask us to delete it. Just email us at hello@actuallythoughtful.com.

ActuallyThoughtful is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

We may update this policy occasionally. The date at the top of this page reflects when it was last changed.
